What are Sessionwire's minimum system requirements?

Because Sessionwire is a web browser based application, system requirements are fairly minimal! HOWEVER, below are some things to consider.

Recommended Minimum System Specs

We're thrilled that we were able to bring Sessionwire to web browsers! Being in the browser greatly lightens the resource load on the host computer and makes it easy to invite guests, clients and more to your own Sessionwire.

That being said, Sessionwire still does require some resources in order to encode/decode video and more. For that reason, we recommend the following as minimum recommended system specs:

Mac Minimum Recommendations

  • Intel Mac with macOS 10.15.X (Catalina) or later
  • Intel Core i5 processor
  • 16GB RAM or more recommended

Windows Minimum Recommendations

  • Intel/AMD PC Windows 10 Home, Pro and Enterprise 64-bit editions
  • Intel Core i5 or Equivalent
  • 16GB RAM or more recommended

Mobile Recommendations

  • iOS using a Chromium based mobile browser - Chrome is recommended
  • Android OS using a Chromium based mobile browser - Chrome is recommended
(Due to the limitations of mobile browsers being built using web kit, Sessionwire is limited in functionality on mobile devices. For the best experience, use Sessionwire on a macOS or Windows machine)

iPadOS devices are not currently supported

Recommended web browsers

Sessionwire performs best on any Chromium based web browsers including the following:

  • Microsoft Edge (macOS Catalina and up, Windows 10 and up)
  • Google Chrome (macOS Catalina and up, Windows 10 and up)
  • Brave (macOS Catalina and up, Windows 10 and up)
  • Vivaldi**
  • Opera**
  • Torch**
  • Arc**

Safari and Firefox do not fully support Sessionwire's functionality.

Safari and Firefox users would find that the audio output of Sessionwire will be summed to one device and down sampled significantly, whereas with a Chromium based browser, separate output devices can be selected for the Talkback and HQ Audio streams.

For the above reasons, Safari and Firefox functionality has been blocked.
