Your Studio is your own private room in Sessionwire. Open it from the Studio icon in the left sidebar. Its address never changes, unless you change your Display Name, so people can always find you there.

Before anyone joins

When you're on your own, the bar at the bottom of your Studio shows:

• Talkback, Camera and HQ Audio, each with an arrow to choose your devices
• Session Invite, to invite people
• Mixer, to check your meters before anyone arrives
• Network Test, to check your network. See Run the Network Test
• Theme, to change your Studio's background colour

During a Session

Once someone joins, the bar changes. As the Host you'll see:

• Talkback, Camera and HQ Audio, as before
• Share Screen. See Share your screen
• Host Ctrl, to take control of everyone's mutes. See Talkback, the Mixer and Automute
• End, to end the Session for everyone
• Session Invite, Record, Mixer and Studio Chat
• Waiting Room, on Studio. See The Waiting Room
• Network Stats, to see how your connection is doing
• Session Settings. See Session Settings

Guests see the same bar without Host Ctrl and Waiting Room, and with Leave instead of End.

To hide the labels under the buttons, turn on Hide Button Text in Session Settings.

Who's who

• Host: the person whose Studio it is. Only the Host can end the Session for everyone, take Host Control, manage the Waiting Room and turn on a Guest's HQ Audio.
• Guest: seen and heard. Guests join from your link in a browser or the app, with no account needed.
• Audience: on Studio, people who watch and listen without being seen or heard. They can type in Studio Chat. See Audience links
• Moderator: a Guest you've given the same participant controls as you.

To change someone's role, open Studio Chat, click ... next to their name, and choose Make Audience, Make Moderator or Kick.

How Sessions end

Click End to end the Session for everyone. A Guest who clicks Leave only leaves themselves.

On the free trial you can host for 40 minutes in any 24-hour period. On Basic and Studio, a Studio closes after 24 hours, long after most Sessions are over. To carry on, invite your Guests again.

Change your Studio's colour

Before anyone joins, click Theme and pick a background colour for your Studio.
