Change your email or fix duplicate accounts

Change your email address

  1. In Sessionwire, click Account Info in the left sidebar.
  2. Type your new address in the Email address field.
  3. Click Save.

If Sessionwire won't let you use the new address, there's probably already an account with that email. That often happens when someone signed up once with a work address and once with a personal one, or once with Google and once with an email and password. Email support@sessionwire.com and we'll sort it out.

Your billing email for receipts is separate. You can change it in the Customer Portal under Billing information.

Two accounts by mistake

It's easy to end up with two accounts, especially if you joined someone else's Session as a Guest and signed up from there. Signs that this has happened:

  • You've paid, but Sessionwire says your trial has ended or that you're a free Member.
  • You're getting receipts at one address and signing in with another.
  • Your Connections or Vault files seem to have disappeared.

Sign out and sign back in with the email address your receipts go to. That's the account your membership is on.

Removing the extra account

We can't combine two accounts into one. Keep the account your membership is on and remove the other one:

  1. Sign in to the account you don't need.
  2. Download anything you want to keep from that account's Vault.
  3. Click Account Info in the left sidebar, then Delete. This cancels any plan on that account and asks us to delete it. The account is closed and its data is permanently deleted 30 days later.

If you've been charged on both accounts, email us about a refund (see Refunds). If you'd rather we remove the extra account for you, email support@sessionwire.com from the address you want to keep.

Forgot which email you used?

Try the addresses you use most often, including any work address, and look for receipt emails from your first payment. If you're still stuck, email us with the addresses you think it could be. For privacy we can't tell you which email an account uses, but we can help you narrow it down.
