LUNA, from Universal Audio, uses the AU versions of the Sessionwire plugins on a Mac. AU plugins load by default; VST3 is off unless you turn it on in LUNA's Plug-In Manager. On Windows, LUNA uses VST3.

Turn off ARM

If you use an Apollo interface, turn off ARM (Accelerated Realtime Monitoring) before you use the Sessionwire plugins. While a track is armed with ARM on, non-UAD plugins on it are bypassed.

ARM is one setting for the whole LUNA project. Turn it off with the ARM button in the Global Controls at the top of the LUNA window, or from Transport > Accelerated Realtime Monitoring. It only appears when you're using an Apollo.

On a current Apple Silicon Mac you rarely need ARM. Lower LUNA's buffer size and monitor through LUNA instead.

Send your mix

1. Put the Sessionwire Send plugin in the last insert on the Main output track. For a separate cue mix, create a stereo Bus track, send each track to it, and put the Send plugin there instead.
2. In your Studio, set HQ Audio Source to the Sessionwire Send Plugin.
3. Press play and check your HQ Audio meter moves in the Mixer.

Hear a Guest in LUNA

1. Turn on the Guest's HQ Audio in your Mixer.
2. Put the Send plugin on a cue mix Bus track rather than Main, as above.
3. Create a stereo Bus track (+ in the Tracks browser, then Bus), put the Sessionwire Receive plugin on it, and leave its output on Main. Because the Send plugin is on its own bus, the Guest won't hear themselves back.
4. In your Studio, set HQ Audio Destination to the Sessionwire Receive Plugin.

Recording a Guest

LUNA has no documented way to record a bus onto an audio track, so recording a Guest's HQ Audio in LUNA isn't straightforward. Have the performer record on their side and send you the files, which also gives you a better recording. See Record someone with the Receive plugin.
