Join a Session as a Guest

If someone sent you a Sessionwire link, you can join from your browser. You don't need an account, a paid plan or a download.

Before you join

Use a computer with Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera or Arc, and plug it into your router with an ethernet cable if you can. Headphones help stop the Host's audio feeding back into your microphone.

Warning

Safari and Firefox aren't supported. Open the link in one of the browsers above instead.

Phones and tablets aren't fully supported. A Session may connect, but Sessionwire is a professional audio platform built for a computer, and you'll get much lower quality on a phone or tablet.

Join

  1. Open the link. A page opens with the Host's name and two buttons.
  2. Click Join as Guest.
  3. Type the name you want the Host to see, then click the button to join their Studio.
  4. When Sessionwire asks for access, click Grant All Permissions, allow your camera and microphone when your browser asks, then click Continue.
  5. On the Device Check screen, click the arrow next to Talkback to choose your microphone and speakers or headphones, and the arrow next to Camera to choose your camera.
  6. Click Join Session.

Sessionwire then calls the Host. Wait for them to answer. If they already have someone with them, you may wait in their Waiting Room until they let you in.

If you have a Sessionwire account and want to use the desktop app, click Sign in or sign up to continue instead of Join as Guest.

If you can't get in

Most problems are on the Host's side, so tell them what you see.

Sending HQ Audio from your DAW

If the Host wants to hear or record your DAW, install the free Sessionwire Audio Plugins and put the Send plugin on your main output. You don't need an account to download them. The Host also has to turn on HQ Audio for you from their mixer. See Download and install Sessionwire.

Remote Desktop Control only works in the Sessionwire desktop app, not in a browser.

Do you need an account?

No. If you want one, signing up is free and starts a 14-day Studio trial, with no card needed and nothing charged at the end. See Create your account and set up your profile.
